Application and Enrollment Process

Application and Enrollment Information for the 2016—2017 School Year

Thank you for your interest  in the Gulf Coast Charter School specialized middle school education program. The official enrollment window for the 2016-2017 school year will begin on January 1, 2016. However, you can let us know if you’re interested in applying by clicking the link below to fill out a pre-application form.

On January 1, 2016, the  will accept applications for the 6th, 7th & 8th grades. Typically there is limited availability for 7th and 8th grade applicants because enrollment priority is awarded to students currently in attendance however this is balanced by the fact that we receive fewer applications for these grade levels. Siblings of students currently in attendance also receive enrollment priority for all grade levels under the current policies.

Since the number of applicants for a particular grade level may exceed the positions available, a random selection process (or lottery) will be used to determine enrollment. Students who were not initially selected for enrollment will be placed on a numbered waiting list and will be notified if a position becomes available.

The enrollment of students receiving ESE (exceptional student education) services will be provisional and subject to the final determination made by the IEP team. The IEP team must agree that the charter school is the best available placement option.
